ADDIS, Alan

Marine Alan Addis was serving with Naval Party 8901 when he disappeared in suspicious circumstances on the Falkland Islands in 1980.  [Sources: AFM ROH / Numerous online reports.]
 

BROWNING, James Gardner

Corporal James Browning, HQ 3 Commando Bde. RM,  was reported missing presumed drowned, after the cessation of hostilities on the Falklands, when caught in a sudden squall whilst in a dinghy off Port Stanley. He had previously served in 45 Commando workshops. 

BURDETT, Julian

Corporal Julian Burdett was awarded the DCM for his gallantry during operations on the Falkland Islands.
 

Citation

On the night of 11th/ 12th June 1982, on the Island of East Falkland, 45 Commando Royal Marines launched a silent night attack against strongly held enemy positions on the craggy hill feature of Two Sisters, ten kilometres to the west of Port Stanley. 

ECCLESTON, Gary

Gunner Gary Eccleston, Bty. Cmdr's radio operator, received a Mention in Despatches in recognition of service during the operations in the South Atlantic on the night of 11/12 June 1982.

HADDOW, Fraser

Lieutenant Fraser Haddow, 3 Cdo. Bde R.M., Mountain and Arctic Warfare Cadre (M&AWC), received a Mention in Despatches in recognition of his service in operations on the Falkland Islands.

HUNT, Ian Nicholas

Sergeant Ian Hunt, Special Boat Service,  was killed during an exchange of fire with an SAS patrol near Teal, Falklands.  They had accidentally strayed into an area patrolled by the SAS. He was the only member of the SBS who died in the conflict.

JAMES, Kevin Michael

Corporal Kevin James was awarded the Queen's Gallantry Medal in recognition of service in Northern Ireland during the period 1st August to 31st October 1978 [1].
 
In 1982 Sergeant James Q.G.M. received a Mention in Despatches for his service during operations in the South Atlantic [2].

LAMB, Peter Ralph

Major Peter Lamb received a MiD in recognition of service during the operations in the South Atlantic [1].
 
17th June 1989 Major (Local Lt. Col) was appointed O.B.E. (Military Division in the HM the Queen's birthday honours list [2].

McCRACKEN, William Andrew

Captain William McCracken 29 Commando
Citation: "Captain William McCracken, 29 Commando Regiment Royal Artillery, was in command of an Artillery and Naval Gunfire Forward Observation Party grouped with B Company 3rd Battalion Parachute Regiment during the period 13th-14th June 1982. During the attack on Mount Longdon in the early hours of 12th June Captain McCracken consistently brought down artillery and naval gunfire safely in very close proximity to his own troops allowing them to manoeuvre whilst still maintaining contact with the enemy.

MOORE, John Jeremy

Major General John Jeremy Moore served as the commander of the British land forces during the Falklands War in 1982.
 
  • Lieutenant - awarded the M.C., for gallant and distinguished service with 3 Commando Brigade in Malaya during the period 1st January to 30th June, 1952 [1].
  • Captain - awarded a Bar to the M.C., for gallant and distinguished service in operations in Brunei during the period 8th to 23rd December 1962 [2].

NUNN, Richard James

Lieutenant Richard Nunn was killed during operations in the Falklands.
 

Citation

On Friday 28th May 1982 the 2nd Battalion The Parachute Regiment was engaged in fierce fighting to take enemy positions in the area of Port Darwin. From dawn, Lieutenant Nunn, a Scout helicopter pilot, had supported the Battalion flying vital ammunition forward to the front line and had evacuated casualties heedless of enemy ground fire. 

POUNDS, Nicholas Ernest

Captain Nicholas Pounds, a Gazelle Helicopter RM pilot and Officer Commanding 'M' Flight during Operation Corporate, received a Mention in Despatches in recognition of his leadership, gallantry, and flying skills, during operations on the Falkland Islands, and in support of 2 Para at Goose Green, between 21 May and 14 June 1982.

REES, Gareth Edward

Marine Gareth Rees was serving in Naval Party 8901 on the Falkland Islands at the time of his death.
 
Notes
The AFM ROH lists his Naval Party as 8401, however the two NP's on the Falklands were 8901 and 8902.
