Citation
"On 14 February 2007, during a company level mobile operations group long-range desert patrol, a VIKING hit an anti-tank mine, which resulted in two friendly casualties. At the time Cowe’s section was in contact 100 metres away. However, without hesitation he led his section into the known mined area, with little thought for his own safety, to help recover the casualties from the smoking hulk and assist with the evacuation; this he did whilst receiving continuous small arms fire from the enemy. He made a significant contribution to the operational effectiveness of his company."
