James Anthony Kelly RM
James Anthony Kelly joined the Royal Marines in 1941 later volunteering for Commando service. Posted 41RM Commando 'A' Troop. Served at Sicily, Salerno, Normandy, and Walcheren where he was wounded by enemy shell fire and evacuated to hospital in UK. After recovery re-joined his commando at Goes serving until the commando was disbanded 1946.
1944, promoted Corporal after DDay. Croix de Guerre with Bronze Star (Normandy).
7 November 1944, Walcheren dunes, wounded by enemy shell fire. 
Mentioned in Despatches for good service operating with the 21st Army Group (rescuing wounded Cpl Milligan and others from minefield under enemy fire).
1949 - 1973, Royal Marine Forces Volunteer Reserve, Merseyside.
11 June 1960, Colour Sergeant, RMFVR, awarded the British Empire Medal (Military Division) for services to the Royal Marines.
