1972 Deputy Chief Constable, Hampshire Constabulary, awarded the Queen's Police Medal [6].
1980 awarded the O.B.E. (Civil Division) [7].
1983 retired as the Deputy Chief Constable [5]
13 January 1987 appointed Deputy Lieutenant of Hampshire [8].
Awarded Knight of the French Legion of Honour when aged 80 [5].
2002 elected Royal Marines representative on the General Committee of the Commando Association [9]
