Basil Aylett MM 45RM Commando
Acting Sergeant Basil Aylett was awarded the Military Medal for gallant and distinguished service in operations with 40RM Commando leading to the capture of Termoli. He was wounded and upon recovery was posted to 45RM Commando and promoted Troop Sergeant Major of 'B' Troop. In this new role he received a Mention in Despatches for good service with the 21st Army Group.
