Private Robert Martin 4 Independent Company
Private Robert Martin, No. 4 Independent Company, was accidentally shot and killed returning from the British Expedition to Norway. His Company were part of Scissors Force. 
 
Pte. Edward 'Tiny' Burke ( Liverpool Scots, No 4 Ind. Coy. and later No 2 Cdo.)  gave an account of the death of Private Martin in a privately published book by Dennis Reeves of The Liverpool Scottish Museum Trust "At 0445hrs a loaded rifle with safety catch off, fell and discharged a round in the confined space where he was berthed on board HMS Vindictive when returning from Operation Scissors Force. He was batman to Lieut. Lawrence Taylor and was buried at sea. Pte McGuire was wounded."
