Lawrence Richard Scott 41 Commando
Lieutenant Lawrence Scott died during operations at Salerno, this date being that of the action in the valley south of La Molina and the nearby hills close to Vietri. Son of Charles Purvis Scott and of Charlotte Scott (nee Vincent). Prior to military service he married Miss Mary Kington Rison in 1937 and was employed as a deputy underwriter at Lloyds. He was also a keen rugby player playing for the London Rifle Brigade in his early years, later assisting at Rugby RFC until 1931, and went on to play for Wasps RFC for 5 years. In 1939 he and his wife were living in Richmond, Surrey.
