Vogel alias Villiers 10 Commando
Sergeant Ernest Robert Villiers, birth name Egon Vogel, was of the Jewish Faith and died during operations at the River Rhine crossing. He served  under an alias of Ernest Robert Villiers in 3 troop, also known as  'X' troop, of No.10 Inter Allied Commando but was attached at the time of his death to 46RM Commando. 
The previous year on 23 June 1944 he had been wounded during operations at the Sallenelles.
