Second Lieutenant Arge Turner, Royal Engineers attached to No.4 Commando, was Mentioned in Despatches for distinguished service during the Lofotens Raid [1][1a]. He had served in the ranks of the Royal Engineers before being selected whilst a Sergeant for officer training and on the 20th April 1940 was commissioned Second Lieutenant [2]. Resigned his commission 8 July 1964, rank Major, [3].
