Corporal Robert Raisbeck was reported missing, later found to have been taken prisoner of war on 30 July 1941.He served with No.4 Independent Company and 'B' Company No.1 Special Service Battalion (later No.2 Commando).
In December 1940 he was part of a Detachment that embarked for Malta as part of Force 'X' for Folbot operations from submarines. They were temporarily designated on their arrival as No.1 Section Egyptian Detail under naval command at the base of the 10th (Malta) Submarine Flotilla.
