Lieutenant Norman Hayward died of shrapnel wounds to his head inflicted when the Landing Craft Tank that he was on board, LCT 18, was hit by a shell during the landings at Westkapelle. Son of Albert Thomas Hayward and Freda Lucy Hayward; husband of Margaret Hayward, of Saltford, Somerset.
