Recommendation
Arakan 1945
On 31 Jan 45 at Hill 170 Kangaw Lt Larcher was commanding a platoon which was ordered to reinforce the forward troop. He carried out this task with considerable initiative and skill at a critical time without regard to his own personal safety. At this stage he exposed himself freely in order to rescue a number of wounded men. Later finding that the enemy were working round the right flank he immediately organised and led an immediate counter attack which was successful and inflicted heavy casualties [2].
  • Lt. G.L. J. Larcher MC relinquished his commission on 14 March 1951 and was granted the honorary rank of Captain [3].
