Trooper Francis Jay died during an enemy aerial attack against commandos based on the island of Vis. At the time of his death he was a signaller attached to 40RM Commando, 2 Special Service Brigade. Son of Harold George and Freda Rose Ellen Jay, and brother of Winnie, of Olton, Birmingham.
