Bombardier Charles Featherstone served in the HQ of No.10 (Inter Allied) Commando. He volunteered for the Commandos from the Police enlisting on 23 July 1942 as part of the 2nd Police Intake to the Commando Depot (Commando Basic Training Centre), Achnacarry. In 1939 he was a Police Constable residing in Kingston upon Hull with his parents. His father Arthur was a retired Police Inspector. Charles rejoined the Police after the war and by 1967 was a Police Inspector in the Hull City Police. Post war member of the Commando Association.
