Marine Alan Owen, X troop, died from injuries received in a car accident which happenned between Ashurst and Lyndhurst, Hampshire.
The Commando were based at Ashurst after their redesignation as a Commando unit, and this occurred the day before the whole Commando moved to Achnacarry for Commando training. He was hit by a jeep driven by an American serviceman.
