Werner Max Lewinsky died in a landing craft with Ernst Weinberger during operations at Normandy on D Day. He served in 3 troop, also known as 'X' troop, of the inter allied commando under the alias of Max Laddy, and was one of their medical orderlies.

Gustav Oppelt was a refugee from Czechoslavakia (Sudeten German) and was killed during operations at Dieppe. For this raid he was attached to 'X' troop, of  No 10.

RICE, Charles

Private Charles Rice was reported a prisoner of war at Stalag 344. He had been captured at Dieppe on 19 August 1942. His unit is shown on the Casualty Lists as Special Service Bn. The SS Bn's. were a short lived designation which had long ended.

Pte. J. Smith, 3 Troop aka 'X' Troop, was recorded in the War Diary as not returning from Operation Jubilee at Dieppe, France, on 19 August 1942. In 1943 he was recorded as being a prisoner of war at Stalag 344.

Johann Theilinger was a Sudetan Czech from Mikulov.  He was baptised a Catholic and later in life could speak numerous languages. He fought in the International Brigades in Spain, the Czech army in exile, later joining No.10 Commando 3 troop aka 'X' troop.
