Werner Max Lewinsky died in a landing craft with Ernst Weinberger during operations at Normandy on D Day. He served in 3 troop, also known as 'X' troop, of the inter allied commando under the alias of Max Laddy, and was one of their medical orderlies.

Johann Theilinger was a Sudetan Czech from Mikulov.  He was baptised a Catholic and later in life could speak numerous languages. He fought in the International Brigades in Spain, the Czech army in exile, later joining No.10 Commando 3 troop aka 'X' troop.
