Rowland Derrick Tucker was a Clerk who enlisted on 4 January 1940 and later volunteered for the Commandos, Private Rowland Tucker, No.6 Commando, was reported missing 6 January 1943 during operations in Tunisia, later confirmed prisoner of war. His Commando were engaged in an assault on one of a line of flat topped hills known as Green Hill which was held by the enemy and covered the road and railway running from Tabarka to Mateur.
