Robert Armstrong from Durham enlisted 1 December 1939, civil occupation Coal Miner. Private Armstrong, No.3 Commando, was reported missing 14 July 1943 during operations at Agnone, Sicily, and the Bridge at Malati (3 Commando Bridge), later confirmed a prisoner of war. Post war member of the Commando Association from Largs, Ayrshire.
