Commando Basic Training Centre

Sergeant Arthur Gomm died from multiple injuries sustained as a result of the premature explosion of a high explosive demolition charge at the Commando Basic Training Centre, Achnacarry, Scotland.

NUTTALL, James Horrobin

RM Engineer Commando

Marine James Nuttall died of wounds. His death is recorded in the War Diary for the RM Engineer Commando dated 19th October 1944. There it states he was wounded on the 11th and died on the 12th.  The CWGC records his unit as 47RM Commando.

THOMSON, Donald (Cpl)

RM Engineer Commando

Cpl. Thomson was killed during operations in Holland. The exact circumstances of his death are not known, but on the day of his death 47RM Commando took part in an unsuccessful attack on the German held small island of Kapelsche Veer which lies between the River Maas and the River Oudermaas.
