Captain Marshall Leaphard, 1 troop, died during operations in Holland.
 
At the time of his death his Commando were engaged in fighting in the area of Brachterbeek. (Source: 1 Cdo. Bde. HQ War Diary January 1945.)
 
His brother, Major Clark Edmond John Leaphard, also served in 6 Commando and survived the war.
