John Henry Vaughan, a Farmer from Kent, enlisted into the Household Cavalry Regiment 12 December 1938. He was later attached to 52 Middle East Commando which formed part of 'D' Battalion Layforce for operations in Crete. During this operation he was reported missing later confirmed prisoner of war 1 June 1941.
