John Galbraith Young, a Bricklayer from Paisley, Scotland, enlisted on 4 December 1941. He volunteered for Special Service and was attached to No.3 Commando. Gunner Young was reported missing 19 August 1942 during Operation Jubilee at Dieppe, France, later confirmed prisoner of war.
