Corporal John Davison, No 3 Commando, was awarded the Military Medal in recognition of gallant and distinguished service during operations at Bova Marina, Italy, between 28 August and 5 September 1943. [1][1a].
  • John Davison was a serving Police Officer who volunteered for the Commandos as part of the Police Intakes. In 1939 he was a Police Constable residing at 45 Woodsorrel Road, Birkenhead [2].
  • Selected for officer training.  Officer Cadet John Cyril Davison was commissioned to be 2nd Lt., with the East Lancashire Regiment on 28 July 1944 [3].
  • The death of Lieut. John Cyril (Jack) Davison MM, of Birkenhead, Wirral, was announced in Commando Association newsletter 78 issued March 1984.
