Trooper George Pinkney, 52 Middle East Commando, was reported missing 2 June 1941 during operations in Crete, later found to be a prisoner of war.
In 1943 he is reported repatriated to the UK. Post war member of the Commando Association last known residing Bradford, Yorkshire.
