Private Fernley Groves was reported missing on 6 December 1942, later presumed killed in action, during operations at Bizerte, Tunisia. He has no known grave. Son of George and Mary Groves, of Madeley, Shropshire.
In 1939 he was single, employed as an Iron Moulder, residing with his widowed mother Mary, and believed to be his 2 brothers, Harry and Denis, at 20 Prince Street, Madeley, Telford.
