Evan William Griffiths was an agricultural labourer who enlisted into the Coldstream Guards at Hereford on 27 December 1940. After volunteering for the commandos he was attached to No.3 Commando. Guardsman Griffiths was reported missing 7 June 1944 during operations at Normandy, France, later presumed killed in action. Son of Thomas and Jane Griffiths; husband of Violet Kathleen Griffiths, of Staunton-on-Arrow, Herefordshire.
