Cpl. Thistlewood grave

Cpl. Thistlewood, 5 troop, was killed during operations at Issel, Germany.

The No 3 Commando War Diary entry for the 13th March erroneously uses the surname Isherwood and refers to him being killed during a period of enemy fire from the opposite side of the canal bank. His surname is correctly shown in the No 3 Commando Casualty list for April 1945  attached to the War Diary ref Appendix D, No 1.

The image, shown here, of his original grave is located within our gallery.
