His brother Stanley was also killed in the war.
 
In Memory of both Fusilier Clarke No 3 Commando, and his brother,P/MX 78180 Wireman Stanley William Clarke, Royal Navy, HMS Hood, who died on the 24th May 1941 aged 19. His brother is remembered with honour at the Portsmouth War Memorial.
