TWEED, David Gratiaen

Captain (Acting Major) David Gratiaen Tweed received a Mention in Despatches in September 1945 for good services with the 21st Army Group [1]
 
  • 12 February 1946 (Acting Major) appointed M.B.E. (Military Division) for gallant and distinguished services in North West Europe [2]
  • 19 October 1951 (Major) received a Mention in Despatches for gallant and distinguished services in Malaya [3]

TYDD, Herbert Henry

Sergeant Herbert Tydd was awarded the M.M. for distinguished service in operations in Malaya during the period August to October 1950.

TYRRELL, Ernest Trevor

Marine Trevor Tyrrell
Marine Ernest Tyrrell died [1] in a landrover vehicle accident in Singapore on his second tour. His first was with 40 Commando RM. [2].
 
Ernest commenced his initial recruit training on 3 February 1964, and completed that initial training in 805 King’s Squad at RM Deal on 29 May 1964.  He successfully completed his full training at the Commando Training Centre on 30 October 1964. [2] + [3].

WADGE, Eric James

Corporal Eric Wadge was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal [1] for gallant and distinguished services in NW Europe whilst a Medical Orderly in No 3 Commando. Post war whilst serving in the Malaya Police he was awarded the George Medal [2] for his gallantry during the Malayan crisis.

WANT, Thomas Alfred

Acting Sergeant Thomas Want was awarded the MM for gallant and distinguished service with 3 Commando Brigade, Royal Marines in Malaya during the period 1st January to 30th June, 1952.

WRIGHT, Robert

Marine Robert Wright died of encephalitis in Malaya. 

Buried at Batu Gajah, later exhumed, cremated at Sek Keng Cheng Crematorium, Kuala Lumpur and ashes returned to the UK.
