Marine Cyril Williams died during operations at Normandy, France [1]. He is recorded as dying on board HMCS Agonquin [2] which on D Day was stationed off the coast of St. Aubin-sur-Mer [3] providing fire support to the troops including 48RM Commando who were landing on Juno Beach.

YATES, Thomas David

Lieutenant Thomas Yates, 'Y' troop,  died when his Landing Craft struck beach defences at Normandy on D Day. He drowned attempting to swim to the shore under heavy enemy fire.
