Corporal Arthur Poole died during operations at Normandy, France. Son of Arthur and Gertrude Poole from Coventry; husband of Joyce Edna Poole, of Acock's Green, Birmingham.
Extract from the Coventry Evening Telegraph
"Cpl. Poole joined the Royal Marines in 1940 and took part in the Sicilian and Italian landings. He was previously employed by Morris Motors Ltd., Coventry, and attended Barkers Butts School. He was an active member of the Demon Cycle Club, Coventry."
