William Sneddon, a Miner from Shotts, Lanarkshire, enlisted into the Armed Forces on 21 February 1941. After volunteering for the Commandos he was attached to No.6 Commando. Fusilier Sneddon, 4 Troop, was reported missing and a prisoner of war during operations in Tunisia on 26 February 1943 (Battle of Steamroller Farm).
