Brigadier Robert Magowan RM
Lieutenant General Rob Magowan joined the Royal Marines in 1989. After successfully completing his training he assumed several Troop Command roles, including a tour of Northern Ireland [1].
  • 2002 posted 42 Commando as Second in Command, deploying to both Kuwait and Iraq for Operation TELIC 1 [1].
  • 31 December 2004 (Lieutenant Colonel) (42 Commando RM) appointed M.B.E. (Military Division) [1][2].
  • 2006 assumed command of the UK Landing Force Command Support Group, later redesignated 30 Commando Information Exploitation Group [1].
  • 2012/2013 (Acting Brigadier) appointed C.B.E. (Military Division) in recognition of gallant and distinguished services in Afghanistan during the period 1 October 2012 to 31 March 2013 [3].
  • 9 June 2018 (Major General) (Commandant General RM) appointed C.B. (Military Divsion) [1][4].
  • 22 January 2020 (Major General) promoted Lieutenant General [5].
