Private Harold Armitage, 3 Troop, was reported missing 13 September 1943 during operations at Salerno, Italy, before being found to be a prisoner of war. He was last seen fit and well 10 September patrolling the Eastern slopes of Liberatore Hill in the company of Pte. Brinkley and Cpl. Hawkins.
