Frederick Hawkins, a Sprayer from London enlisted on 2 May 1939. He volunteered for the commandos and was attached to No.2 Commando. Reported missing believed killed whilst with 3 Troop at Salerno, Italy, later found to be a prisoner of war. Captured 10 September 1943 whilst patrolling the Eastern slopes of Liberatore Hill with Privates Brinkley and Armitage.
