Thomas Gerald Dennis 3 Commando
Lance Sergeant Thomas Dennis served in 6 troop and was one of the No.3 Commando boxing team, weightclass heavyweight.
Wounded during operations at Lentini, Sicily on 20 August 1943 and again in June 1944 at Amfreville, Normandy, he was medically discharged as a result in February 1945.
A serving Police Officer he had volunteered for the Commandos as part of one of the July 1942 Police Intakes. In 1939 he was a Police Constable residing In the Wortley district of Yorkshire before being posted to the Lancashire Constabulary.
Post war member of the Commando Association from Wallasey, Cheshire, Thomas died in 1963 after many years of failing health.
