In 1966 Sergeant Philip Lawrence, the first N.C.O. in the Royal Marines to be a pilot, joined the Royal Marine Air Troop in Borneo working alongside Lieutenant Cameron RM and Lieutenant Gregson RN in support of 42 Commando RM.
