Cemetery/Memorial:
Marine Donnelly, 'Y' Troop, died during operations at the River Aller near Hademstorf and was buried there before being re-interred at Becklingen on 21 August 1946.
Peter Donnelly, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. Donnelly, of Bamber Bridge, Lancashire, was educated at St Mary's Roman Catholic School, Brownedge, before being employed at Bamber Bridge Spinning Company Ltd. He served in the local Home Guard guarding the River Ribble along with George Pointer before they both joined the Royal Marines.
