Temporary Major Kenneth Wylie, B.A. was second in command of No.7 Commando. During operations on Crete he was placed in command replacing the sick Lt. Col. Colvin and was subsequently captured by the enemy [1]
  • He was transported to Germany and imprisoned at Oflag O9/AH at Spangenberg [2].
  • 13 September 1945 awarded the Distinguished Service Order in recognition of gallant and distinguished services in the Field [3].
  • 29 August 1946 appointed M.B.E. (Military Division) in recognition of gallant and distinguished services whilst a prisoner of war [4][4a].
  • 1 October 1958 (Lieutenant Colonel) (Royal Engineers) retired with reserve liability [5].
  • 7 September 1966 (Lieutenant Colonel)(Honorary Colonel) having attained the age limit ceased to belong to the Reserve of Officers [6].
