Acting Lieutenant Colonel Felix Beale Colvin was Commanding Officer of No.7 Commando until taken sick during operations on Crete. Major Wylie was appointed by Laycock to take his place [1].
Lt. Col. Colvin was taken prisoner of war and subsequently received a Mention in Despatches for his actions whilst in captivity [2][3].
Recommendation
"Following his capture on Crete on 1 June 1941 Lt. Col. Colvin was imprisoned in Greece and Germany. For three years he served as an active member of the Escape Committee at Oflag IX A/H (Spangenberg) being mainly concerned with the security angle. In addition Lt. Col. Colvin was in secret communication with the War Office." [3].
- 29 February 1956 ceases, through age, to belong to the T.A. Reserve of Officers, retaining the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel [4].
