Colour Sergeant Ian Jackson died during an exercise in the Swiss Alps when he fell during abseiling on the Wyssifrau (White Lady) mountain in the Bernese Oberland.
Described as a very experienced mountaineer he was taking part in an annual four week exercise arranged by 3 Commando Brigade Patrol Troop.
