Recommendation
Sgt Tydd has from the date of his arrival in Malaya shown an outstanding determination to seek out and destroy the enemy. This offensive spirit coupled with his tenacity of purpose has brought conspicuous success.
He has on two separate occasions tracked and located bandits in their camps. In the ensuing fight he has shown fearless leadership and he has been an inspiration to his sub section, with the result that a bandit has been killed on each occasion.
The success which his sub section has gained is directly attributable to his high standard of leadership, devotion to duty and above all his perseverance in following up the bandits regardless of all difficulties.
