Frederick George Fleckman, a Labourer from Dunstable, enlisted 3 October 1940 and later volunteered for the commandos. Private Fleckman, No.3 Commando, was reported missing 14 July 1943, later confirmed a prisoner of war, during operations at during operations at Agnone, Sicily, and the bridge at Malati (3 Commando Bridge). Remained in captivity until 8 May 1945.
