Donald Bayley Long 9 Commando

  • 27 March 1962 (King's Own T.A.) promoted Lieutenant Colonel with seniority from 27 May 1960 [4].
  • 1 April 1967 (King's Own T.A.) promoted Colonel [5].
  • June 1967 appointed Officer (Brother) in the Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem [6].
  • June 1975 commissioned Deputy Lieutenant County of Lancashire [7].
  • December 1980 promoted to Knight in the Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem [8].
