Fusilier Frank Barton, aged 22 and from Nottingham, was reported missing 26 February 1943, later confirmed as a prisoner of war, during operations in Tunisia (Battle of Steamroller Farm). He escaped from Italian captivity 11 September 1943, along with his brother, 1460165 Sgt. F.T.
