Bdr. Charles Roland 'Ron' Featherstone No.10 (IA) Commando
Bombardier Charles Featherstone served in the HQ of No.10 (Inter Allied) Commando. He volunteered for the Commandos from the Police enlisting on 23 July 1942 as part of the 2nd Police Intake to the Commando Depot (Commando Basic Training Centre), Achnacarry. Active service included North West Europe. Received a Combined Operations Certificate of Good Service from Maj. Gen. R.E. Laycock C.C.O. dated 1 March 1946.
Charles Roland 'Ron' Featherstone was a Police Constable in 1939 residing in Kingston upon Hull with his parents. His father Arthur was a retired Police Inspector. Ron re-joined the Hull City Police after the war and by 1967 was a Police Inspector. Member of the Commando Association.
