Able Seaman Crofts, Royal Naval Beach Commando 'E', was killed by a bomb splinter during operations in Sicily. Son of Robert Wrenshaw Crofts and Emily Alice Crofts, of Derby. Peter Charles Crofts was formerly employed in the bakery department of the Derby Co-operative Society before joining the Royal Navy in 1941.
