Lance Corporal Connolly, 30 Commando Assault Unit, died at his billet at 47 Maxwell Road, Littlehampton, Sussex, from accidental carbon monoxide poisoning. Son of Thomas Francis Connolly and of Jenny Lilian Connolly, of Brae. The Inquest at Horsham later recorded that he had been taking a bath and was overcome by fumes from a faulty water heater.
