Gunner George Baker, 5 Troop, died during the Battle of Hill 170, Kangaw, Burma. He was killed in action after killing two Japanese snipers and has no known grave.

George Horace Baker from Kingston on Thames, Surrey, joined the East Surrey Regiment TA in 1939. On 9 December 1939 he transferred to the Royal Artillery, 65th Searchlight Regiment. After this he was posted to the Faroe Islands. Gunner Baker volunteered for the Commandos in 1943.
