SIMMONDS, Frederick John

Layforce
Lance Sergeant Frederick Simmonds of 27 Sherborne Street Gloucester, died in Belgium. 
He was reported missing on 2 June 1941 during operations in Crete and later found to be a prisoner of war at Stalag 383 in Germany. He was serving in 'D' Bn., Layforce at the time. In 1945 he was reported as no longer a prisoner and then reported as died 21 May 1945. He is buried in Brussels Town Cemetery.
